En la obra «Latinoamérica» Rodríguez Triana utiliza materiales ligados a la tierra como lo son la madera, el papel y el hilo. A través de estos materiales, su desarrollo y la relación que crea entre ellos, la artista nos cuestiona sobre la desigualdad económica que crece entre países y personas. Una desigualdad cada vez más amplia consecuencia de un sistema económico capitalista donde el capital es lo único que importa y que define el éxito o el progreso de una nación. La riqueza de unos necesita la pobreza de otros: para que haya ricos debe haber explotación y una explotación desmedida genera pobreza.

Dans l’œuvre « Latinoamérica », Rodríguez Triana utilise des matériaux liés à la terre tels que le bois, le papier et le fil. A travers ces matériaux, leurs développement et la relation qu’elle crée entre eux, l’artiste nous interroge sur les inégalités économiques qui se développent entre les pays et les peuples. Une inégalité de plus en plus large, conséquence d’un système économique capitaliste où le capital est la seule chose qui définit le succès ou le progrès d’une nation. La richesse des uns a besoin de la pauvreté des autres : pour être riche, il doit y avoir exploitation et une exploitation excessive engendre la pauvreté.

In «Latin America» the artist uses materials linked to the earth such as wood, paper and thread. Through these materials (their development and the relationship between them) the artist makes us reflect on the economic inequality which grows up between countries and people and the over-exploitation of nature in Latin America. For the artist the poverty existing in the capitalist system is a consequence of the excessive exploitation and accumulation and is everyone’s responsibility. The wealth of some and the poverty of others are a necessary part of the circle of exploitation: for there to be rich, there must be exploitation and excessive exploitation generates poverty and destruction.
